Carnet Categories In Israel
Israel accepts ATA Carnets for commercial samples, professional equipment and fairs, or exhibitions. They remain valid for 12 months and can be used for single, or multiple journeys within that period.
Whilst Israel offers a western style business environment in most ways, a point made in the video is valid. The day to day ethos is different and several of our clients mentioned they benefited from linking up with a local agent.
Working Relationship
A trade agreement (currently EU) and a double taxation treaty with the UK, along with a similar commercial legal framework do help.
Israel have been ATA carnet members since 1966 and this system is well managed. Unless you have an unusual itinerary, English is fine for the form, although there are differences.
Additional Customs Regulations
If you are not the goods end user, they need to be added to the carnet form. Whilst extensions for temporary export beyond 12 months are possible, they are not guaranteed.
Commercial jewellery, watches, or related materials, require photos attached to the form. Communications equipment beyond your mobile, or similar, may need additional permission. Items with intellectual property implications need careful thought.
ATA Carnets In Practice
Beyond the above, facilities are good. ATA carnets in Israel can be used for postal goods, or transit. If you lose a carnet, a replacement (via your UK provider) should be okay.
Hand luggage items are fine, customs offices are efficient and well manned, although closed on Saturdays and holidays.
Most countries have variations in their approach and Dynamic Dox staff are there to help, in issuing your ATA carnet and supporting you afterwards. We want your journey to Israel to be hassle free, profitable and a pleasure.
